Our story
Grisell de la Rosa, businesswoman and entrepreneurial soul, is the creator and owner of Casa Frida, a project that was born as a tribute to her grandmother, Petra Elena García Zamora, founder of the first art gallery in Ensenada more than six decades ago.
Within those walls, Grisell experienced countless moments of her childhood, moments that instilled in her a deep sensitivity and love for art. Coming from a family of artists whose strokes and works have traveled the world, Grisell understood that she had to reconnect with her roots to give life to a space dedicated to Mexican art.
It was during a trip to Coyoacán with her daughter, while visiting the Frida Kahlo Museum, that this connection was rekindled. There, Grisell rediscovered her creative essence and decided to bring a piece of Mexico's heart to the Valle de Guadalupe, transforming it into a haven where art, passion, and wine intertwine to awaken the senses.
Casa Frida was born in 2017 with its first tasting room built on the foundations of the first chapel in the Valle de Guadalupe, a sacred space where masses, weddings, and spiritual gatherings of the town were held. When the property was acquired, the chapel was almost in ruins; however, far from letting it disappear, the decision was made to honor its history and transform it into a private tasting room, preserving its original structure, while simultaneously creating the official tasting room that we know today.
Casa Frida has established itself as one of the most visited places in the Valle de Guadalupe, which has boosted its growth and expansion in a short time.
It currently features three tasting rooms, each with a distinct concept, as well as a rooftop terrace and an outdoor patio. This growth reflects Casa Frida's strong proposition: a combination of wine, gastronomy, and art that has positioned it as a benchmark in the region.
